Short answer: The 2027 rapeseed season in Wuyuan has not started yet: the fields were sown in autumn and the plants are still in leaf. From mid-February to mid-April 2027, our team in Jiangxi will post the bloom stage at Wuyuan’s main viewpoints here every Monday, based on the official bloom reports from Wuyuan County and the scenic areas, with links to each source. Based on recent years, expect the peak between about mid-March and early April.
| Viewpoint | Stage | Next report |
|---|---|---|
| Valley fields near the county town and Likeng | Not in season (plants in leaf) | Mid-February 2027 |
| Moon Bay | Not in season (plants in leaf) | Mid-February 2027 |
| Huangling terraces | Not in season (plants in leaf) | Mid-February 2027 |
| Jiangling terraces | Not in season (plants in leaf) | Mid-February 2027 |
Viewpoints are listed in the order they usually flower: the low, sunny valleys first and the high terraces last.
| Stage | What you see | Worth the trip? |
|---|---|---|
| Buds | Green fields with yellow buds; under 10% of flowers open | Not yet |
| Starting | Yellow patches; about 10–30% open | Only if you can’t come later |
| Half | Fields clearly yellow; about 30–70% open | Yes |
| Peak | Whole terraces yellow; over 70% open | Best time |
| Fading | Petals falling, green seed pods showing | Only the highest fields are still good |
Each update will give the date, the stage at each viewpoint and any crowd or traffic notices, with a link to the official report it is based on. The newest update will be at the top. The first update is due in mid-February 2027.
| Typical timing | Usual stage |
|---|---|
| Early March | Valleys starting; terraces still green |
| Mid-March | Valleys at peak; lower terraces starting |
| Late March to early April | Jiangling and Huangling usually at peak |
| Mid-April | Valleys fading; highest fields last |
In 2026 the fields reached their peak in the last week of March after a warm spell, and Jiangling and Huangling were still flowering over the Qingming holiday in early April. A mild February brings the bloom forward by a week or more; a cold, wet March holds it back.
